And that MAY have been a long time ago, and guns may have worn, rusted, corroded, etc. These were good quality guns (not super duper golly gee, just good guns) WHEN they were made. When i repaired the kinked spring, and polished the plunger, the handgun ran flawlessly. Turns out that a spring and plunger were installed backwards by the previous owner. Since I had nothing to loose, I decided to "smith" it myself. He charged me $30 just to tell me that the gun was just worn out and that it would cost more than the gun was worth to fab a new part for it. Just figured Id post a little more history here since I posted my Father-Inlaws Navy Colt Revolver. It seems to be a late 1800s or early 1900s model but there is little info out there on them. was actually Iver Johnsons Arms and Cycle Works.
